The Writer - Sebastian de Assis

Sebastian de Assis is a writer, teacher, philosopher, and intellectual artist with a studious eclectic interest ranging from philosophy to physics.

In addition to authoring books and plays–the latter has become his writing passion–he’s written numerous articles, white papers, video scripts, a slew of marketing materials, and successful grants worth more than $2.7 million to date.

At the time he was a traditional educator, he authored the acclaimed Teachers of the World, Unite! This poignant manifesto on education was praised and endorsed by Bill Ayers, the distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois, and by the President of the Foundation for Educational Renewal, Ron Miller. Teachers of the World, Unite! was adopted as required reading at State University of New York (SUNY) School of Education.

Two years later, Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group published his second book, rEvolution in Education, which also was adopted as required reading at SUNY School of Education. The book is available in universities’ libraries around the world.

Since forsaking his traditional educator status, he has widened his writing interests focusing on the many challenging conditions of the human experience, which he’s been lately expressing through the theatre arts. He’s been searching for the possibilities of individual self-empowerment through synoptic knowledge; that is, intellectual, empirical, and esoteric learning.
